Frequently Asked Questions
Fall Creek Maine Coons • Pendleton, Indiana
Q: How much are your Maine Coon kittens? ▼
A: Our Maine Coon kittens start at $2,500 and can go up depending on color, sex, markings, eye color, and whether they are polydactyl. Every kitten includes TICA registration, up-to-date vaccinations, deworming, microchip, health certificate, and a health guarantee.
Q: How do I reserve a kitten? ▼
A: The first step is to fill out our Kitten Application. Once approved, you’ll be added to our waitlist. A non-refundable deposit allows you to choose a specific kitten when they become available. We keep you updated with photos and videos throughout the process.
Q: When are kittens ready to go home? ▼
A: Kittens leave for their forever homes between 12 and 14 weeks of age. This extra time with their mother and siblings helps them develop strong social skills and a confident personality.
Q: Where are you located? ▼
A: We are a small home-based cattery located in Pendleton, Indiana — about 30 minutes northeast of Indianapolis.
Q: What health testing do you do? ▼
A: We take health very seriously. All breeding cats receive HCM screening (ultrasound + DNA), genetic testing panels, and regular vet checks. We work hard to reduce the risk of common Maine Coon health issues.
Q: How big do Maine Coons get? ▼
A: Maine Coons are one of the largest domestic cat breeds. Males usually reach 15–25 lbs and females 10–15 lbs. They are tall, long-bodied, and very athletic — not fat, just big and majestic.
Q: Are Maine Coons good with kids and other pets? ▼
A: Yes, they are excellent family cats. They are known for being gentle, affectionate, playful, and dog-like in personality. They generally get along very well with respectful children and other pets.
Q: Do they need a lot of grooming? ▼
A: Their long, beautiful coat benefits from brushing 2–3 times per week to prevent mats, especially around the neck, belly, and behind. Most Maine Coons enjoy the grooming time with their humans.
Q: Do you sell breeding rights? ▼
A: At this time we do not offer breeding rights. All kittens are sold as pets only. We may consider it in the future for exceptional show-quality cats.
